Founded in 2024, Azura was created to embody the relaxed and authentic spirit of Morocco’s surf culture. We chose Tamraght for its peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking natural surroundings, and genuine local charm. It offers a refreshing contrast to the busier surf scene in Taghazout, allowing space for reflection, connection, and creativity.
Our house, set apart from the crowds, provides the perfect environment to unwind, connect with the ocean, and immerse yourself in the local community. Though we’re still in the early stages, Azura is quickly becoming more than just a place to stay—it’s a home for travelers seeking meaningful experiences, deeper connections, and a true taste of Moroccan surf culture.
At Azura, we believe that hospitality can be so much more than just offering a place to stay. It’s about creating a space where people can connect, build relationships, and be inspired. We want Azura to be a place where guests can slow down, reflect, and soak in the beauty of Moroccan culture and its slower pace of life.
We’re still at the start of our journey and constantly learning, but our vision is to make Azura a place where meaningful exchanges happen—where conversations break down barriers, and everyone leaves with a new perspective. Our hope is to share Morocco through our own lens, inviting you to experience it with all your senses.
our philosophy
sustainability
We’re far from perfect, but we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and are always open to feedback on how we can improve. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken so far:
Locally Sourced Ingredients: The vegetables we use come from the nearby farmers market or small local shops. Like traditional Moroccan cuisine, our menu focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients, with a heavy emphasis on vegetarian dishes and a moderate use of meat.
Mindful Resource Use: Towels are only changed upon request to conserve water and energy. We also repair our surf equipment whenever possible, rather than replacing it every season, reducing waste and extending the life of our gear.
Upcycled Furnishings: Many of our guesthouse's furnishings come from local second-hand markets, which we restore ourselves. This not only adds character but also helps reduce the need for newly manufactured items.
Eco-Friendly Materials: Recently, we are planning to renovate a few rooms using tadelakt, a sustainable limestone plaster that’s both durable and contributes to a healthy indoor climate.
At Azura, we are committed to creating a welcoming, conscious space where guests can relax, connect, and enjoy the best of Moroccan culture, all while keeping sustainability in mind.
